Then Môâb rebelled^H6586 against Yâshârêl (יִשְׂרָאֵל) after^H310 the death^H4194 of Achâb.

And Ăchazyâhû (אֲחַזְיָהוּ) fell^H5307 down^H7971 through^H3212 a lattice^H7639 in^H413 his upper chamber^H5944 that^H834 was in Shômerôn (שֹׁמְרוֹן), and was sick^H2470: and he^H2088 sent messengers^H4397, and said^H559 unto them^H1157, Go, enquire^H1875 of Baal zebûb (בַּעַל זְבוּב) the god of Eqrôn (עֶקְרוֹן) whether I shall^H518 recover^H2421 of this disease^H2483.

But the angel of^H413 YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה) said^H1696 to Êlı̂yâhû (אֵלִיָּהו) the Tishbı̂y (תִּשְׁבִּי), Arise^H6965, go^H1980 up^H5927 to meet^H7125 the messengers^H4397 of the king^H4428 of Shômerôn, and say unto them, Is it^H1875 not^H369 because there is not^H1097 a ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים) in Yâshârêl, that you^H859 go to enquire of Baal zebûb the god of Eqrôn?

Now^H3212 therefore^H3651 thus^H3541 said^H559 YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה), you shall not^H3808 come^H5927 down^H3381 from^H4480 that^H834 bed^H4296 on which^H3588 you are gone up, but shall surely^H4191 die. And Êlı̂yâhû departed.

And when the messengers^H4397 turned^H7725 back unto^H413 him^H2088, he said^H559 unto them, why^H4100 are you now turned back?

And^H853 they said^H559 unto^H413 him^H376, There^H8033 came^H5927 a man^H4191 up^H3212 to meet^H7125 us, and^H3588 said^H1696 unto us, Go^H7971, turn^H7725 again unto the king^H4428 that^H834 sent you^H3651, and say unto him, Thus^H3541 said YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה), Is it^H1875 not^H3808 because^H4480 there is not^H369 a ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים) in Yâshârêl, that^H1097 you^H859 send to enquire of Baal zebûb the god of Eqrôn? Therefore you shall not come^H3381 down from that bed^H4296 on which you are gone up, but shall surely die.

And^H853 he^H376 said^H1696 unto^H413 them^H428, what^H4100 manner^H4941 of^H1697 man was^H5927 he which^H834 came up to meet^H7125 you, and told you these words?

And they^H1167 answered^H559 him^H376, He^H1931 was a hairy^H8181 man, and girt^H247 with^H413 a girdle^H232 of leather^H5785 about his loins^H4975. And he said, it is Êlı̂yâhû the Tishbı̂y.

Then the king^H4428 sent^H7971 unto^H413 him^H376 a captain^H8269 of^H5921 fifty^H2572 with his fifty. And he went^H5927 up^H3427 to him: and, behold^H2009, he sat on^H1696 the top^H7218 of a hill^H2022. And he spoke unto him, you man of ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים), the king has said, Come^H3381 down.

And^H853 Êlı̂yâhû answered^H6030 and said^H1696 to^H413 the captain^H8269 of^H4480 fifty^H2572, If^H518 I^H589 be a man^H376 of ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים), then let^H3381 fire^H784 come down from heaven^H8064, and consume^H398 you and your fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Again^H7725 also^H376 he sent^H7971 unto^H413 him another^H312 captain^H8269 of fifty^H2572 with his fifty. And he answered^H6030 and said^H559 unto him, O man of ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים), thus^H3541 has the king^H4428 said^H1696, Come^H3381 down quickly^H4120.

And^H853 Êlı̂yâhû answered^H6030 and said^H1696 unto^H413 them, If^H518 I^H589 be a man^H376 of^H4480 ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים), let^H3381 fire^H784 come down from heaven^H8064, and consume^H398 you and your fifty^H2572. And the fire of ĔLÔHÎYM (אֱלֹהִים) came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

And^H5869 he^H376 sent^H7971 again^H7725 a captain^H8269 of^H5921 the third^H7992 fifty^H2572 with^H413 his fifty. And the third captain of^H5048 fifty went^H935 up^H5927, and came and fell^H3766 on^H1696 his knees^H1290 before Êlı̂yâhû, and besought^H2603 him^H5315, and said unto him, O man of ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים), I pray you^H4994, let my life, and the life of these^H428 fifty your servants^H5650, be precious^H3365 in your sight.

Behold^H2009, there came^H3381 fire^H784 down from^H4480 heaven^H8064, and^H853 burnt up^H398 the two^H8147 captains^H8269 of the former^H7223 fifties^H2572 with their fifties: therefore let my life^H5315 now^H6258 be precious^H3365 in your sight^H5869.

And^H853 the angel of^H6440 YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה) said^H1696 unto^H413 Êlı̂yâhû, Go^H3381 down with him: be not^H408 afraid^H3372 of him. And he arose^H6965, and went down with him unto the king^H4428.

And^H3588 he said^H559 unto^H413 him^H5927, thus^H3541 said^H1696 YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה), Forasmuch^H3282 as^H834 you^H3651 have sent^H7971 messengers^H4397 to enquire^H1875 of^H4480 Baal zebûb the god of^H1697 Eqrôn, is it^H8033 not^H3808 because there is no^H369 ĔLÔHÎYM^H430 (אֱלֹהִים) in Yâshârêl to enquire of his word? Therefore you shall not^H1097 come^H3381 down off that bed^H4296 on which you are gone up, but shall surely^H4191 die.

So^H1697 he died^H4191 according^H834 to the word of YAHUAH^H3068 (יהוה) which^H3588 Êlı̂yâhû had^H1961 spoken^H1696. And Yehôrâm (יְהוֹרָם) reigned^H4427 in^H8141 his stead^H8478 in the second^H8147 year^H1121 of Yehôrâm the son of Yehôshâphâṭ (ְהוֹשָׁפָט) king^H4428 of Yahûdâh (יְהוּדָה); because he had no^H3808 son.

Now^H3117 the rest^H3499 of^H5921 the acts^H1697 of Ăchazyâhû which^H834 he^H6213 did, are^H1992 they not^H3808 written^H3789 in the book^H5612 of the chronicles of the kings^H4428 of Yâshârêl?
